I would agree with this. Also keeping in mind what had just happened in the week prior to him getting the letter, what with the virus on the loose in London, losing Zaf and being ordered to bomb that train in Iran, I think he felt a tad ambivalent about it. But he also knows, and Connie reminds him of this, that it is more a Knighthood for the Service than it is for him, and as such he should accept it on behalf of the Service.

I have great fun picturing Connie at the Palace, swigging Gin and giving the Queen some sass. I would have liked to see that.
