I don't want to belabor the point, so with this post I'll just let it rest. The tension that was built up during Ros's involvement in Yalta and the emotion of her getting that one-way ticket out of MI5 is retroactively cheapened, when all of it is forgiven as part of a quick plot device. The rules create the tension & risk which the characters must deal with. I think what drew me into the show was partly the fact that there was an element of plausibility to most things that happened. The show took the time to ensure that things happened for a reason, at least with respect to the way the spooks operated & reacted. What displeased me regarding this scenario with Ros is that I feel the door is opened to break more rules of the game in future episodes without so much as throwaway explanation. Now, when someone is booted from MI5, I won't care as much because it can all be undone as a matter of convenience.
