I don't think you're in the minority, at least not here most probably. I also want a happy ending for Harry and Ruth, actually I wouldn't even mind if it was a little soapy and therefore quite untypical for Spooks, they just deserve some happiness.

However, I'm quite pessimistic in this regard and what may be exciting for the producers or even the actors might not be the same exciting for me.

I think I may also blame the weather a little bit for my depressed mood. Maybe I would be more optimistic if it was a glorious summer but this "almost autumn" we've had for months now is just pushing me down...
