RE: Series 10 - Episode 2 Discussion
Good point TL re: Halliburton. Didn't think of that. Maybe threat of the week only. Maybe Harry is just mentoring Erin by asking her what she made of it and to file it away for later?
Hmmm...Russian Mafia. They have reared their heads before. Harry mentions how Gavrik got rich - taking advantage of a situation in not so very decent ways. The dark side of revolution, democracy and capitalism. Perhaps that is a clue into Harry's obvious distaste for Gavrik in general? Not that Harry is against those ideas, just the misuse of them. Other things that jumped out at me upon re-watch. When Ruth told Harry that she can deal with being "dependable Ruth" as long as she was in his confidence, did anyone else finish her thought a la Harry to Blake at the end of 6.9? As in, "Or I will give you cause to see what kind of dogged brilliant bitch I can be!" ![]() I had the passing thought that showing Erin burning Martha Forde was a way to get into Elena's mind when Harry burnt her? Elena must have felt somewhat like Martha Forde felt? Martha Forde at least had the chance to run and hide, Elena had to live amongst those she betrayed for 30 years! Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet [Spooks]; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. ~Wm. Shakespeare, Hamlet |
