I'm guessing someone in MI6 is implicated because they'd have the technology required to hack phones and computers. If the information Martha retrieved from Gavrik's computer implicates him in the Iraq dirty deals we may discover who else is involved, not that I often correctly guess where Spooks is taking me!

I've thought about this. I'm not in a position to rewatch, but I remember the girl on the phone saying that unfortunately someone was killed. Was she talking about the assassin or the Russian FSB agent the assassin killed? If she was talking about the FSB agent, that would indicate to me that the woman on the phone is Russian and that the Russians made that attempt on Gavrik, perhaps to convince the British that he is on the level? To prevent the British to look into what Gavrik is really busy with, in other words.

Because the Russian characters are speaking with an accent I assumed that girl wasn't Russian because she didn't. I had the impression she was talking on the phone about the guy that Erin shot who had attempted to kill Gavrik and that she thought everything was going to plan which made me think whoever sent him in knew he'd fail. I can only think MI6 has an agenda and maybe Erin is working for them. Perhaps she had orders from them to kill him so he couldn't talk. There again I have a different theory every time I think about it so had better stop thinking for the next 24 hours!! LOL
