And the countdown clock that usually heigtens my excitement for the next episode has started to unerve me (in manner of bomb going off). I didnt get this upset when I left school. I wasnt even nearly moved to tears when my nephew was born this week, yet im gettin all teary eyed over the end of our beloved Spooks.
Thankfully everyone in my family adores the show, so kind of did a "trial run" on last weeks episode (yes I know were sad, we even gave it a name "Operation Love you and Leave you") it went a little like this. All family congregated in the living room, in manner of slumber party, blankets, fluffy pjs etc. Pizzas chips crisps and dips, and various alcohol bevrages.
Though a few hicups in the plan did arise, so a few rules had to be made before this sunday.
1: We are not allowed to discuss any spoilers we may have found out this week with each other. So the forum has been my sanctuary this week.
2:All mobile phones must be switched off before entering the living room.
3: Crisps are now banned as last week they were deemed to0 noisy along with any other food that makes a crunching sound.
4:As there is no adverts during spooks there will be no getting up to go to the toilet due to the fact it means walking past the tv screen and losing a few seconds of spooks will not be tolarated.
5: There will understandibly be no talking, a rule that was established just before ep 10.5 but needs to be mentioned again and amended due to fellow watchers making noises: eg snorting, sighing and clapping hand to mouth in the manner of "oh my god".
Scarlet, raising our glasses at the same time is a great idea, I will raise mine on 3 occasions, when the music starts, at a special Harry and Ruth moment (hopefully a kiss), and when the negative shows. It is sad that we cant all enjoy it together, but I suppose if we all did this at the same time, in a mad sort of way we are.
I dont care if Spooks is ending Im not leaving this forum. Not on your nelly.
What say the rest of you.
ps. I think its just normal tea with sugar in, that what I always assumed anyway, I could be wrong though Zpelland.
3 toasts is an even better idea!
Like your farewell party idea. I shall be watching alone so hopefully will not have any interruptions. Apart from the cat. As for sweet tea - yes I think the same as you Zpelland. Although tea generally seems to mean different things to the Americans (not sure about Canadians). In Texas, 'sweet tea' would probably mean iced tea with sugar...
