Yeh because I hear there's new legislation to make TV shows always have happy endings to lift the mood of the nation.

That's not a completely ridiculous notion at all, "I know, we've got this great drama series that is famed for shocking audiences with unhappy endings and killing off main characters but since the country is in recession and everyone is a bit down at the moment, I think it falls on the shoulders of us TV writers to give the fans a happy ending to lift their spirits."
