RE: Series 10 Ratings

I do believe this lost Spooks a few hundred thousand fans at least going into s10 who had lost faith in the show/the new writing team and weren't prepared to give s10 a chance. Which is a shame but clearly shows an audience will vote with their feet. (Or remote control, in this case.) This thought occurred to me as well. I am pretty sure that Spooks lost a lot of viewership after S9 for the reasons you mention above. I was curious to see how much that seemed to affect overall ratings for S10. Looking at a slightly bigger picture, while the numbers were down 1M compared to S9, S10 had an overall average viewership better than both S8 and S7, and missed S6 by only 160,000 viewers. S10: 5.41M S9: 6.33M S8: 5.36M S7: 4.77M (Shame b/c, IMO, that was a fantastic series!) S6: 5.57M S5: 5.97m S4: 6.05m S3: 5.77m S2: 7.19m S1: 7.49m All things considered, I still think it held it's own and was not nearly as affected by DA as I thought it would be. Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet [Spooks]; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. ~Wm. Shakespeare, Hamlet |
