I think that it would have been risky to go for a headshot. The target is so much smaller and too easily mobile. Jo was holding his upper torso in place, but his head could bob about all over the place like a rubber duck at a fairground. He still had his finger on the trigger of the bomb. If she missed, or if he moved, they'd all have been dead. (Also, a successful headshot would mean that Jo would have had to find some way to die of natural causes in the last twenty seconds of the episode so that Miranda Raison could go off to film "Married, Single, Other" and "Heaven and Earth"!)

As for Ros leaving, I'm still clutching at straws that it's not true. I've sent one of my moles in the BBC to investigate - though he says that their Kudos liaison is on paternity leave at the moment so it might take a while to get the info - in the meantime, he's going to try and find me a high resolution version of the picture below as consolation!
