RE: Episode 5 Discussion
I thought it was a strong episode, but not really an outstanding one. Things I liked:
- That Ros trusted Harry over her one-time mentor to such an extent that she showed him the memoirs and the allegations that Coleville made against Harry. These two have certainly come a long way. - Harry's 'thank you' when Ros said she never believed he got an innocent civilian killed during interrogation in Gibraltar. - For a moment I wasn't sure whether Coleville really knew something about Harry from Gibraltar, which was a direct result from the fact that we've seen Harry lie so well on many occasions. - I thought HN portrayed Ros' conflicted feelings about Coleville really well. - The misdirection with Coleville - I was trying to work out how he tied into the Basel meeting the whole episode, while in the end his actions had nothing to do with it. - Glad that they've figured out Sarah is not to be trusted. If they'd left it much longer it would've made our heroes look like idiots. So well done Ruth! - The conference room scenes are back! - Tariq will henceforth be known as Smart Boy. Things I didn't like: - The chase scene with Ros/Coleville was interminable. - If I never have to see another smooching or love scene between Lucas and Sarah I will be a happy camper. - Disappointed that we didn't get to see a showdown between Harry and Lucas about him lying about the Basel meeting, or over the suspicions that Sarah is a baddie. I guess Little Miss Efficient provided such incontrovertible proof that Lucas couldn't see it as a frame-up or an attempt from Harry to break them up. It seems I will have to give up on my hope that the former tensions between Lucas and Harry will come to a head in this series. - I'm also beginning to suspect that we've seen all the good Harry/Ruth scenes we're going to get this series. Damn. ![]() |
