The scene I particularly remember is when they're walking down the corridor and Lucas says "Is it bad?" and Adam replies "When is it not?" And Lucas offering fish and chips to Adam, and Adam with a smile taking a bite of the food. It was cute. Sure Lucas and Adam are both meant to be alpha males, but I think Lucas wouldn't have had a problem with Adam in charge, Lucas may not listen well, but he isn't trying to boss everyone either, and he understands that he needs to step back and catch up so someone else has to be in charge, so I think he and Adam would have figured out a good dynamic to work with. And I think Adam had compassion and admiration for Lucas too, after all, Adam was the one who convinced Harry to bring Lucas in and said that "You can't just bring him in and then leave him out in the cold." I would like to think Adam and Lucas would both be adult and mature enough to figure out a good working relationship without either one trying to be the boss of the other. TPTB sure missed a good opportunity there. Such a shame that Rupert had to leave. I think he and Richard would be a hell of a team. RIP Carter Hall ~ Hawkman |

I have to say I was really excited when I first heard that Richard Armitage was joining Spooks, but I don't think the writers/producers have used him to his full potential in terms of character and abilities.

Lucas (well, RA) is the reason I started watching the show properly - such a great character, flaws and all

Couldn't miss an episode in series 7I totally agree with you. I never really liked Adam. But it was a bit predictable to kill off Adam the moment Lucas was back on the Grid. It would have been far more interesting if they had to work together even for just a few episodes. Lucas 8.4: It's all about trust, isn't Harry ?. Signature by the brilliant TygerBright |

RE: Lucas a good addition?
Yeah I think it would have been great to have a few eps with the both of them.. Whether they would interact well or be competing with each other either way would be interesting. It would have been more shocking if Adam was killed later on in the series as we might have started believing he was 'safe' (well as far as you can be in section D lol) and then be surprised rather than expecting it really.
As for Lucas being a good addition - absolutely (say she without a hint of bias ) it was a great start to s7 to have a whole new character with a whole new backstory.. after all Adam's whole PTSD was all done and Fiona and Wes so it was nice to see more potential for character development. Having said that I don't think they have used him to his full potential. |
