I'm afraid I got a bit over excited when i heard the news. I don't think it will be produced until the summer at the earliest, as most large theatres have their programmes organised up until June/ July. Also it will depend how much time RA has available as to whether it will take place in a number of venues of remain in one, eg the Old Vic. It will be great to see RA playing something raunchy, funny and completely unlike Lucas/John.

This sounds very interesting as RA did say he wanted to do more comedy.

It sounds terrific. Wish I was over there to see it. Do you have a idea of the plot/story (if there is one? Big Grin

I also wonder how it's going to fit in with his Hobbit commitments. I'd imagine Sir Peter Jackson & Co. will take a while to set up, so maybe it might be earlier than the summer. Then again, they might do some scenes early to avoid the New Zealand (wet) winter (in your summer months). Keep us posted!

I've been watching "Strike Back", where RA plays the leading-role. An excellent drama; but I was rather surprised at the similarities between his character John Portman, and his portrayal of Lucas North in Spooks. I was also intrigued to see him doing another water-boarding scene (which looks a fair bit more intense than the Spooks version!), especially after reading that he apparently has a fear of water?!

Anyway, I liked the mention of him hoping to appear in a "Crime and Punishment" or "Richard III" series one day. Those would definitely be brilliant shows to watch Big Grin

I thought it was incredible that RA got water-boarded again!! Brave man to go through it a second time. I loved Strike Back, although it didn't follow the book that closely which I was quite surprised by.

Watch the DVD. The book is okay, and is certainly exciting at the end, but it drags at the beginning when he's an alcoholic and destitute. He could've summarised this in one paragraph. The DVD has the added bonus of RA, who is strangely shirtless in many scenes (I just had to keep watching these to check that Parental Guidance classification was adequate. I'll forget to mention that I don't have kids. HAHAHA!)

The book 'Strike Back' is great, but then I have a tendency to read these action books. It is very similar in style to Andy McNab's books (ex SAS guy), so perhaps not every one's choice. It has a completely different ending (which I personally prefer) and really only deals with the first story of Sky's Strike Back, the other two are not part of the book.

That is definitely an advantage over the book!! I have to admit I only bought the DVD because RA was in it.
