Sugarhorse a reality?
Do you think Sugarhorse is based on reality?
Lots of shady stuff was going on during the Cold War, it's not an impossiblity. What do you think? Sig & Av Guidelines | Rules | Spoiler Policy |

RE: Sugarhorse a reality?
wouldn't surprise me......if the writers could think of it, then pretty sure the Secret Services could....after all, look at some of the skullduggery they got up to during WW2.......

RE: Sugarhorse a reality?
I think it's a definite possibility. And if it's not a real operation, it shows that Spooks can have some pretty good ideas about operations, and MI5 should be taking notes! Joking.
DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered. |

RE: Sugarhorse a reality?
I'm pretty sure it is. I'll have to go run away to my little history friend but i'm pretty sure she told me last year about the whole concept of sugar horse.
My interpretation is basically like a more sly quid pro quo. You feed a little sugar to the horse, tempt it and lead it along for your own means. Will report back when I am better informed Saarre. *salutes* |

RE: Sugarhorse a reality?
I'd guess that pieces of Sugarhorse were based on reality, if not the whole op. When the Berlin Wall fell and the Cold War ended, secret intelligence archives were looted and previously unknown spying ops were made public and extensively written about. I can see that info being mined and used in all manner of ways, including for entertainment purposes.
"What is the truth?" "Betrayal is a cancer. Let it eat your soul, not mine." "Please tell me this isn't going where I think it's going." |

RE: Sugarhorse a reality?
I see... Well in that case, it should make finding its origins a whole lot easier, eh?

RE: Sugarhorse a reality?
I love how old threads are suddenly resurrected!
What made this storyline so sexy was that it was utterly plausible. An old enemy, waiting in the dark....classic Spooks, and building upon a lifetime's worth of espionage and conspiracy theories. Very scary. Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |
