RE: Spooks = Reality... Sort of?
If one really wants to get a good idea of (some of) an Intel Officer's life, I would recommend reading the novels by Stella Rimington.
The boring and mundane 75% are not too developed (well, she wants to sell the books and the stories after all...), but the 25% sheer adrenalin rush and close pursuit tempo are there, as well as a very realistic depiction of Five's daily cooperation with Special Branches, Armed Response and other government agencies... Stick to the first two installments though. |

Or this :
http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/enterta...10192.html I bought it last week, as I'm hunting a mole at the moment. Actually, there might be several of them, I just don"t know yet. But it's getting worse, as they reached the orchard now... |

You're hunting a mole??? Orchard??? (Is this is in the book or reality?!?!)
Sounds interesting DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered. |

OOOOOOH! lol. Sorry, I've got to write up some information about Ruth for someone and I'm on the bit where she's a mole, so I didn't think about the other kind of mole But that was quite funny

It will be interesting to see whether BBC commissions another series; they are clearly running out of ideas, and there is only so far that they can take the story without a political narrative to justify MI5’s purpose. Quote/unquote.

RE: Spooks = Reality... Sort of?
That article's a bit harsh haha.. I mean, what do they expect.. a documentary about the security services and britain's decline as a world power. pfft. I always thought Spooks was fairly accurate with its portrayal of current affairs and international relations and I mean I say fairly bacause it is afterall a TV drama!
I also reckon the storylines have gotten better and more complex as the show has gone on and I see know reason for that to not continue into a series 9 and beyond!! |
