Yes, but what about his mistakes in series 9? You could argue that now that Ruth is no longer on the grid, Harry's decision making will improve. Somehow, I cannot believe.

Ruth redirected some of Harry's judgment calls. Not only he loved her, but he depended on her for his work. He is no longer the same man he was even in series 8. He is burnout mentally and psychologically even more so after the death of Ruth.

I have no idea. I think it was implying those fans who had written to Kudos or are asking about an alternative ending might have created some trouble for Helen James Productions? If I am assuming that correctly, I don't see how quite frankly. After all, I thought she was the one who tweeted about if there was enough demand for an alternative ending, it might be possible to include one or words to that effect. I don't think it's fair to blame some fans for simply responding to this.

I dunno, I think Ruth's death paradoxically has refocussed Harry on his work. Of course he is deeply affected by her death, and that is precisely why I think he will strive to do the best job he possibly can - because it is the only way to honour her memory and make her sacrifice meaningful. And Erin has shown that she is not afraid to challenge his decisions, so he will still be forced to think about his calls even though Ruth is no longer there.

My understanding is that HJP did not just randomly tweet about the possibility of an alternative ending. Rather she was responding to repeated queries from people, who then used her remarks as a stick to beat Kudos with. (WHY they thought the company whose job it is to do the behind the scenes video features would be better placed than the actual production company to comment on what was filmed and what wasn't is beyond me...)

HJP have subsequently tweeted a retraction, mentioning that their remarks were "made without authorisation" and have deleted all of their previous tweets to the persons involved, which I think makes it fairly clear that Kudos have had a word with them.

You're right. It would be wrong to blame people if they were simply responding to something HJP has tweeted off their own bat. But they aren't. They're responding to comments they went fishing for, so I'd call that 'biting the hand that feeds you'.

Well, I think if people put themselves on twitter/FB or make their contact details publicly known, then it isn't unreasonable to ask them questions. Just because she may have mistakenly said something she shouldn't, I still don't see how that is the fans fault. She could after all, have chosen not to respond. Personally, I feel that Kudos are the ones who are being a little authoritarian over this whole thing. I presume they were behind the youtube clip of PF and NW on the bench, being suddenly removed. A little childish it seems to me...
Anyway I don't want to get into an argument, this is just how I see it. This is probably going a bit OT now so I will agree to disagree with you and end it there.
