RE: Episode 3 Discussion
No, I disagree. I mean, I think that the fact that spooks aren't afraid to kill off the main character is what makes it stand out from most of BBC production.
I mean, in reality, the main guy wouldn't live through impossible odds; he wouldn't be near immortal. And just because we get to know the people in spooks, doesn't make them any less indestructable. Lots of people get shot or blown up every episode and because we don't know them, we don't give them a passing thought. Personally, if they stopped killing off the main characters, I would be sincerely disappointed. Everything on the BBC is going downhill except for Spooks. They're wavering with the whole Christine/Tom - Sarah/Lucas thing, but hopefully they'll pull through |

RE: Episode 3 Discussion
I'm not saying it's bad thing ForQueenAndCountryAndSpooks.
It's just that i thought that with Connie and Ben being killed off at the end of last season and malcolm leaving this season they would have left the killing off of characters until later on in the season. Arkardy Katchimov: You look after Lucas now he's home. He's weak, he's tired... and tell him, eat broccoli. Harry Pearce: I think he's suffered enough, don't you? |

I agree with you Rudegirl1111, I think they kill off too many main characters. I only just started to like Jo and thought it would be good to see her and Ruth together more.
Lucas 8.4: It's all about trust, isn't Harry ?. Signature by the brilliant TygerBright |

RE: Episode 3 Discussion
I noticed upon re-watching this episode something I missed the first time around.
In that first meeting in Harry's office, when Harry is talking about what little he knows about "the Basel group" he explains they want to affect change and Ruth says "change can be good." I was rather struck that this could have a double meaning for the Ruth we've known this year. Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

Oooh, yes! One to ponder (my current favourite Spooks line atm )
DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered. |

Oh spooksdreamer, I'm sorry. It was sad to see Jo go and that last image of the episode is terribly sad too.
