Bring back Tom Quinn

RE: Bring back Tom Quinn
I couldn't see Tom coming back. As JHyde already mentioned, the service wouldn't allow him back, for one. And two, it would be completely out of character and re-writing history for him to suddenly have a change of heart and fall back in line with the security services. Tom was very much done with the lies and the impact they had on his pursuit of love and happiness. At the end of it all, Tom was a hopeless romantic and that just wasn't conducive to a life in MI-5.

RE: Bring back Tom Quinn
You wouldn't necessarily have to bring TQ back to Thames House. He could feature in a major storyline involving some private security contract or something and have TQ caught up in some dastardly intrigue and subterfuge that encompasses MI5, MI6 etc. See? Easy!

Having said all that though it'll never happen as (pointless speculation alert!) he would have retreated from the action-led life and probably bought a big barn somewhere so he could whittle wood and grow vegetables on a nearby plot. In my head that's what happened!

RE: Bring back Tom Quinn
I agree with the majority, I don't think he'd like to come back, as Tomsdouble said, in my mind he's in a cottage in the middle of nowhere Smile

If I remember correctly
Spoiler: show
he and Christine have their own private security consulting firm together.

RE: Bring back Tom Quinn
Yep, that's true, it says so in the personnel files.

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

RE: Bring back Tom Quinn
I know, but I like to think he's in the country, I don't know why
Spoiler: show
they say they have their private security together, I think they were fed up with that job... It's only my opinion

RE: Bring back Tom Quinn
Oh apologies for any spoiler errors on my part. I haven't really got used to what that is all about. I assumed with the series being so well-established
Spoiler: show
and currently just having finished its 8th season
that everybody knows what has happened and where we are up to.

One reason why I think it might be good to see such a character as TQ return are the ideas of growth, change, redemption. TQ was after all supposed to be one of Harry's best operatives. Also you could make a good argument that there have been way too many characters coming and going over the years. MI6 do a better job it would seem with James Bond having been there for decades!

Tom RE: Bring back Tom Quinn
I think it would be great to bring back Tom Quinn -- even as a character in just one storyline -- I read somewhere that a writer had written for Quinn fans the storyline that he and the CIA woman he was involved with had gotten together and started a security firm. Maybe the storyline could be "Blackwater meets MI-5" - then he could get killed off thereSmile -- But Tom Quinn/Mathew MacFayden is in the new Robin Hood so doubt he will have the time.

RE: Bring back Tom Quinn
Well he's already filmed Robin Hood so he is free I think.

I think Tom should be brought back for a guest spot, helps out Harry one last time.

RE: Bring back Tom Quinn
True -- but I would suspect more job offers would come from the exposure in a major motion picture - much like happened for Alan Richman in the Costner-starred Robin Hood.

When does Spooks/MI-5 film -- May to Sept?
