RE: Episode 9 Discussion [Rewatch]
I think the plot was very weak and sidelined by Tom's emotional state. At the end I was left feeling 'so what happened to the missiles and the drugs'.
Tom's breakdown is being so well portrayed, you can actually see him falling apart.
I loved Christine in this episode, she seems to love Tom a great deal, and Tom really needs someone to talk to as he has distanced himself from Harry so much.

"Physician, heal thyself" -- it's from the Bible, Luke 4:23.

Thanks lwhite53. I went on the net and did a little digging. Apparently its meaning is "attend to one's own faults, in preference to pointing out the faults of others"

No wonder Harry hit the whisky.

RE: Episode 9 Discussion [Rewatch]
Towards the end of the episode, when everyone was in the meeting room and they realized that the Colombians were buying missiles, was Ruth suggesting that they should leave the Colombians alone and let them run their drugs operation rather than risk a missile strike ? Didn't she say something like they shouldn't shake the snake by the tail, or did I completely misunderstand that.

No, you got it right -- that's what she was saying. It's still early in her spooks tenure and she is naive!

"Betrayal is a cancer. Let it eat your soul, not mine."
"Please tell me this isn't going where I think it's going."

RE: Episode 9 Discussion [Rewatch]
this ep seems to show just how far away from the thinking of the rest of the team tom is. i just want him to let someone in. it dosent have to be harry he was so close to opening up to zoe but he pulled into himself as tom tends to do.

i agree the plot was a little weak - and tom and zoe grew close to there plant very quickly and of course were upset by her death. but tom and harry really seem to have different ideas on how best to handle her and the whole situation however tom was rather out of order at times as was harry!

however i do think that harry is very bad at noticing proplems with his staff. he sees there is a problem and instead of interveing he leaves them to it. that said i doubt that adam would accept his help.

the site of him at the end with christine is actualy very sad because he clearly is a very broken man ;(

RE: Episode 9 Discussion [Rewatch]
I watched this one sometime ago, but I remember what happened. One thing that I particularly remember was the argument at the end between Tom and Harry (as well as what happened to Mariella).

I remember how Tom was upset with Harry, especially about how the latter reacted after everything was over. I thought that scene was well done. Personally though, I thought Harry's reaction was a bit callous. I felt bad for Tom though. Nevertheless, I felt MM did a great job in portraying Tom and Tom's struggles. In addition, similar to HellsBells, I like how Christine was there for him.

Question- I remember when Rafa was killed, it looked like a scene from the Godfather. He was garroted in a similar manner to one of the characters from the Godfather movie (first one). Did anyone else notice this?
