RE: DVD release date and available to pre order
Unfortunately (or is it fortunately) I don't have the money to get DVDs even if I wanted to. So I will have to settle for others telling me how the extra features are.

(23-01-2011 09:15 AM)Tea Lady Wrote:  I for one am really looking forward to this DVD release and what the writers have to say. Yes, seeing NW and PF together will make it well worth buying. I guess if you really hated the series that much, don't bother buying it.

I'd buy it just for the extra's... I mean NW and PF doing an interview together, that's a first and a reason I'd buy it, and of course NW audio commentaries, definatly would buy it just for that, I love listening to her chat about the episodes, not just to hear her view on things but in S4 her audio commentary was just brilliant,
I didn't actually hate Series 9, just found it... awkward, I just thought the Lucas thing was pointless and that they could have let RA leave on different grounds. He could have left with honours now Lucas is a traitor and everything built up in S7 and 8 that we loved about Lucas was just wasted Sad

I am looking forward to the DVD as well, perhaps we'll get some decent answers as to why there was a Downfall to Lucas at all andwhy for this series they focused mainly on him, I don't think it's been done before, they could explain why they had a character centred Series Wink

Release date is late Feburary? I should have enough money by then, then again I'm no good at saving, Wink

Still confused over the fact theres only 3 discs, is that going to be 3 episodes on 2 discs and 2 episodes on the last disc with a load of extra's also on that disc? Sees just strange when the other Series with 8 Eps in had a 4 disc set?

RE: DVD release date and available to pre order
I'm so so so glad to hear that there will be a proper set of extras on this boxset! I'm really looking forward to the PF/NW interview, and the featurette on "Lucas' Downfall". It should be good to see what the actors think of S9 and hopefully get some answers from the writers/producers as to why they took S9 in the direction that they did. It'd be nice if we got to see a bit of the filming process, the cinematography in S9 was beautiful.

RE: DVD release date and available to pre order
I am glad there are going to be lots of extras on the DVDs, because these days with DVD recorders and/or iTunes there really isn't much need to buy the DVDs just to watch series 9. So I will buy it but probably only for the extras.
