RE: Peter Firth
The hardest thing is maintaining a NOWP (Not Obsessed With Peter) facade, I find...

"Where's Harry?"
"Moving in mysterious ways."

RE: Peter Firth
I've almost totally given up any type of facade regarding Spooks, PF, NW, HN, RG (and Martin Clunes). I send out texts to sympathisers of Spooks with the first few words being "You know you're a fan of Spooks when..." Big Grin

The only thing left that I definately won't be telling my friends and family is about me starting to write fan fiction, especially as the current one I'm writing is a rather raunchy m-rated fic about Harry and Ruth. Blush

Must look out for them, although I've got four of them thanks to TeaLady. My other half will declare me insane for watching Heartbeat and growl when I say I'm only watching because of Firthy.

Thanks so much for this, I've been checking the ITV3 schedules for a while, they seemed to be showing every other series of Heartbeat except this one. Will have my DVD recorder set!!

Is anyone else like me, I watched most of the early series of Heartbeat when they were shown in the 90's but don't remember Peter being in this at all. Maybe I only had eyes for Nick Berry in those days!!!! Oh, how things change nearly 20 years later Blush

RE: Peter Firth
I did notice Peter, back then, but I didn't know who he was.

RE: Peter Firth
Sadly, I'm old enough to remember Peter in the Doubledeckers, and was aware of Equus, saw Letter to Breznhev but I always thought Peter far too pretty for my tastes. He then dropped off my radar altogether (I was into Marlon Brando and Steve McQueen - not pretty boys). When Spooks was first shown I watched part of the first episode and remember saying to myself "oh yes, Peter Firth" but then thinking Spooks was too far-fetched and didn't watch it again! It was killing time and watching 5.1 on 'on demand' TV that I sat up and took notice. That was back in March last year...and I've been hooked on PF, Harry and Spooks ever since. PF has a lovely 'lived in' look about him now.

This forum should really be called "Spooks Anonymous": my name is picard1109 and I'm a Spooks addict". And I don't want to be cured.

"Moving in mysterious ways."

That sounds very painful Picard. Not sure I could do it. Evidenced by having my Harry mug on my desk and posting on the PF thread during my lunch.

Yes, it does cause some upset to the equilibrium. But you've reminded me that I must get a Harry mug, too.

HAHA! Pretty much my story too although I do not remember him in the Doubledeckers. My husband does though. I do remember him in Equus. I am still kicking myself for insisting that our family go see Cats rather than catch PF in Amadeus on Broadway back in the early 80's. For me too, though, he was too pretty and boyish looking. I have since seen him in lots of things but only with Spooks did he really come back onto my radar. That is why, when I hear PF mention something along the lines of the years being cruel to all of us I can only say, Mr. Firth, the years have been VERY good to you. Very good indeed!

Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet [Spooks];
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

Like it.

Thanks for the heads up about Heartbeat. Luckily all my loved ones will be back at their various unis etc so I can watch what I want without explanation or excuse!
Yay to having the house to yourself and having an epic Firth fest. Go for it, I will be when Mr WS goes off to Holland next Thurs for work. Same day as Heartbeat starts, Spooky that Wink.
