RE: Travel
Canada's meant to be incredible. And as you know, whenever it gets too hot here in Australia, I decide once again to move there.
Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

RE: Travel
Yeah, but then you'd be in Canada. Canadians are probably the second most made fun of people in the US after the French.
Always love your country, but never trust your government. |

RE: Travel
Haha yeah but thats a mutual thing. My friend had her Canadian friend over during the Summer and when people mistook her for an American she got soooo angry lol... It was quite amusing

RE: Travel
Canadians and Australians are meant to have heaps in common. You'd think it would be more New Zealanders and Canadians who had stuff in common, given the inferiority complex. Apparently, it's something about a culture where people want to have fun and laugh.
I'd love to explore Washington and Oregon properly on my way down from Alaska, but unfortunately since Twilight and their movies there are tour buses full of people traversing the area. Including the Native American reservations where I wanted to spend some time. Kind of annoying. Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

I'd really like to drive down from Alaska to California and see that part of the country that way then head off and visit other parts by train and air. There is American culture if you look hard enough, I know. Hey, be nice! Let's see -- in the US, I've lived in New York, Maryland, Florida, and Virginia, and visited New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, North Carolina, West Virginia, Pensylvania, Ohio, California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas. Outside of the US, I've visited Israel, Lebanon, London, Stratford, Chichester, Paris, Brussels and Bruges, and worked in Vancouver and Edinborough. Turns out I've been more places than I realized! RE: Travel
I *am* being nice - I'm not an American basher at all. Whatever its faults, the US is built on ideals I find very beautiful, and I'm sincere about finding pockets of American culture. I won't call it "the real america" because that's just stupid - how is part of the country any more real than another? I know that not all bad guys are American nor do they speak like Sarah Caulfield
I also want to go to Israel. My latest career plan involves working in the Middle East, although I was thinking more Iran or Syria. Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

I want to go there too and work there one day I hope to work for the foreign office (yes I know how hard that is to get ) Although I must admit one of the reasons why I initially wanted to go to syria was when I watched Spooks |

RE: Travel
Israel is pretty amazing -- ancient historical artifacts side-by-side with modern buildings, crazy scary drivers, beautiful seasides, soldiers with uzis slung over their shoulders riding the bus home for dinner, the holiest shrines for three major religions next to totally secular neighborhoods, etc. A 21st century country containing a 2000 year old country -- a total paradox in many ways.
