[spoilers] Spooks Locations

RE: Spooks Locations
Thanks Carole9908. Most of it is though that I worked in London for 12 years so a lot of the time I think I know the rough location of the place that has been used, especially if its in the City. It's then just a case of picking out points of interest that I recognise and cross referencing with multimap and google maps. I still have not cracked Ruth's garden though from 8.8 or the tower from 8.4 which are really bugging me !! Smile

RE: Spooks Locations
I'm snowed in so have nothing better to do. I have found the warehouse used in 8.1
Spoiler: show
to hold Harry and Ruth
I actually thought this one would be difficult but I found it quite easily by just tracking down from London Bridge Station on Multimap. The photo is from google maps and is at a slight angle due to poster boards being in the way. The funny thing is though that there looks to be a crane in front of the building holding a light which is shining on one of the windows in the building. Perhaps they were filming in the building at the time...you never know......

The address is Vinegar Yard, Thomas Street, Camberwell, London

RE: Spooks Locations
Thanks for the "Regent Hotel. WC2" location, Tea Lady, it was driving me mad!!! I couldn't find it, they fooled me completely with the false leads, besides the monument was being restored...

I don't think this one has already been made:
1.02 -> 16:47- Tom phones Ellie from Waterloo bridge.

The rewatch idea is great to discover new locations Yahoo

RE: Spooks Locations
I would like to put up a candidate for the Davie King pub from 6.9. Unfortunately I don't think we will be able to say 100% that it is unless someone goes there. I think it could be the Freemasons Arms, Long Acre, Covent Garden, London.

I noticed in the bar area where Davie was sitting the words "Neame" written on glass on the wall. I figured that this must therefore be a Shepherd Neame pub. I started going through their pubs in London and came across this one close to Freemasons Hall and also it is where the Football Association was apparently started (there is a leather pair of football boots on the wall where Harry walks in.) I also noticed the design of the windows, small pane at the bottom with a large pane at the top (You can just see the windows as they walk in.) Also Harry & co dont appear to come in via the front door. This pub has two doors by the looks of it, the one on the right leading down a corridor. I attach a photo and a link to the Shepherd Neame website so you can have a look. As I say I cant be 100% but its my best guess I think.

RE: Spooks Locations
I'd rather visit that one than the one in Bermondsey!

RE: Spooks Locations
OK, I'm caving. This thread is now inclusive of spoilers of all aired episodes in the UK, so no need for tags.

RE: Spooks Locations
I'm sure I posted a reply here earlier to this, but it has disappeared..

I'm not sure when I can do it, but I can pay a visit to the Freemason's Arms. Rather go there than to the pub in Bermondsey any day!

RE: [spoilers] Spooks Locations
It would be great if you could Carole9908 so we could chalk that one off. My next visit to London is not going to be until at least mid-end of Feb, although I am likely to be around that area when I do go. I may have to wonder in and visit the loo and hope Davie isnt in there.

Thanks for adding spoiler tags JHyde. I think I have slipped up on a couple of posts.

RE: [spoilers] Spooks Locations
Hubby knows the pub - I mentioned the name & he said "Yes, that's the pub the Football Association was formed in". He's only been there once, so I think I can convince him to pay a return visit once the weather improves.

I just looked at the website - it mentions function rooms, plural, which is on the right lines. If only it mentioned what they are called...
I've had a closer look at that scene. The mirror definitely says Shepherd Neame & Co Brewers Faversham, so we definitely have the brewery pinned down.
I have found an internal picture from the Freemasons, but if it's the right pub, the picture has probably been taken from about the seat Davie was sitting at. The toilets sign is in similar writing to signs for the function rooms which we see Harry & Malcolm walk past, and there seem to be wooden partitioning which matches too.
We could be onto a winner here, well done, Tea Lady! Damn, I wish I could go there right now to check!
