Is the answer definately a place?
ETA: What's still got me paranoid is 'Here's an additional clue, the alphabetical replacement for 'hym' = 'dlt' BUT if you put 'rythym' through the entire encryption process it comes out with 'tldjln'.' I think I've decoded the riddle, but I didn't use that clue, which makes me think I've got it very wrong... |

The 4th word is wrong. Otherwise, you have it. I think the misspelling was intentional so you'd get what the deal was with that part of the clue.
