Yes, THAT, photo, bit of Harry AC Big Grin

I'm so pleased Harry listened to my concerns and dressed appropriately Silba

The battle is between BBC and ITV, poor Downton and Spooks are just their pawns/prawns.

I'm probably wrong as usual but I think Spooks will be well behind DA on overnight viewing figures which are the ones which grab the headlines although in reality it is probably the final BARB ones which are the most significant.

As it is the last Season it's not going to matter what they are but I just feel it deserved a better time-slot.

Yes, the fee means that they don't have ads. Although, I think there are commercial TV stations in the UK as well.

As for the BBC, very simply put, the government sets an annual fee that viewers have to pay if they want to watch TV. Its categorized as a tax. You kind of have to pay it. Its something like $240.00 USD annually for color. That money from the fee goes to fund the programmes we know and love. It covers about 75% of the cost of the TV, radio and internet services with the BBC Worldwide (BBC America, baby!) making up the rest of it. They are not allowed to use the UK license fee to fund programming on any of the BBC Worldwide stations. Consequently, our 1 hour and 20 minutes versions of Top Gear in order to play the full episode without losing commercial time. Or, worse, yet, butchered episodes of your favorite programmes that make absolutely no sense!

Hi
I'm in the UK. I pay for a tv license and a sky subscription, despite never watching terresterial tv. Yes there are no ads on BBC at all! Wish it was just the one programme I missed like you in the states. We have to wait ages for programmes to get here. Spooks starts on the 18th September...can't wait!

You can also find the summary for episode two on the press office website, but I wouldn't recommend it as it's full of spoilers.
This interesting article (already posted on the links thread by YorshireTyke) http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-radio/spooks is worth a read. It was written by someone who is not a genuine Spooks fan as there are some points that are not quite true. There are some that are very funny as well!

The most interesting point though, is that it says at the bottom that it broadcasts on 19th September. This proves that the Beeb's decision to schedule it on Sundays is a recent one. I would love to have been a fly on the wall in the meeting when they decided to switch it.

Just out of interest (maybe I've missed something on the forums) why is the red clock counting down to the end of the first episode tonight and not it's beginning at 9pm?

Yes, I wondered that!
