RE: Series 10 Episode 1 discussion
Hmm, I'm not sure about the way the story is going - there's a distinct air of soap-ish quality to the 'I'm the Daddy' revelation, am I to believe that Harry's not cared about his son's life all these years? I know Harry has a difficult relationship with his children, but this doesn't ring true for me. I suppose I prefer my Spooks a bit less soapy.
Good riddance to 'decomisioned' Beth, the show felt so much different and better without her. Erin is really interesting, although Callum doesn't work for me so far, but I'll give him time. |

RE: Series 10 Episode 1 discussion
Great start, I've been really nervous all day, but having seen spoilers here, there and everywhere for the last month or so, nothing too dramatic happened in that sense, except Harry's revelation to Ruth...hmm
Some amusing one liners for Harry returned! A couple of observations: Harry's looking good....the buttoned down collars on his shirts have disappeared though! Home Sec is looking very trim. Harry and Ruth seem to be getting on quite well... a couple of meaningful looks there. Erin doesn't seem to be too much of a cow...yet! Callum....not taken to him, bit too cocky for my liking. Can't wait for ep 2 |

Just so everyone knows, it's now up on iplayer. I am intrigued as to how the whole Sasha thing is going to work out to be honest it complicated things a lot, Elena being his ex lover is one thing but him having a son by her is a totally different kettle of fish.

RE: Series 10 Episode 1 discussion
Okay,
I thoroughly enjoyed that episode of spooks, but then i always enjoy every new episode of spooks after not seeing a new one for almost twelve months I enjoyed seeing Harry and Ruth working together; their little chats and witty one liners, that each sets up for the other - it was reminiscent of the earlier seasons. As for the new section chief, i quite liked her - and the crying/feelings of guilt after killing the assasin only serves to show that she is a normal person whom is doing her duty for queen and country but still reflecting about the lengths you have have to go to when in the security services. This now leads me on to the cogs in my brain which are now rustily turning - the home secetary, when speaking to Ruth commented on her lack of promotion even after all she has done. He then basically hinted that a promotion of some sort may be in order. Now, whay have i got visions that the end of this show may end on Harry being ejected from the service and Ruthy being given the job as head of MI5? We shall see! I felt a lump in the throat when the BBC announcer at the start of the programme said 'This is the beginning of the end'! Oh how bitter-sweet is this series going to be!!! |

RE: Series 10 Episode 1 discussion - tech stuff
A great start to sadly the last series of the show however after all the Apple product placement there was a simple oversight with the hard drive from the exploding laptop. A 3.5" drive from a laptop? Didn't someone notice this or are they all caught up swooning over the style of their gadgets rather than what goes into them ...
What would Malcolm have said? |

Yes I find the idea that a laptop rigged as a bomb would leave the disk drive intact not believable - unless the bomb was elsewhere in the room and the laptop was a trigger - in that case why leave any real data on the lap top if its a trap. and imac's (FFS that's what the editors use where I work) id have expected at least some decent mac pro's if not some proper PC hardware. |

RE: Series 10 Episode 1 discussion
I knew as soon as I saw Sacha that he was Harry's son, which sort of ruined the ending for me. I really hope this series is not all about Harry's love life, I want it to be about his life, not the women he's banging or the illegitimate children he has.
A bit slow starting this episode was, but I think it needed to be to build everything backup and paste over some of the cracks left by the previous series. Really don't like the way Beth has just been swept away like she was never there. Spooks is better than that at dealing with character exits. What's with the music in this episode? Nothing like previous scores, can't say I'm a fan. Sig & Av Guidelines | Rules | Spoiler Policy |

Very different music from the last few series (which i really enjoyed), I did however like the music at the end, when Harry tells Ruth about Sasha, very moving in my opinion. |

RE: Series 10 Episode 1 discussion
Im quite liking this episode but it probably only because im THIIIIIIIIISSSSS happy spooks is back! Love that Harry and Ruth has moved on, i mean they feel much more comfortable around each other thats probably because Albany thing or maybe they have had a talk who knows... im though guessing that in ep2 and ep 3 we might be back to awkward Harry and Ruth... LOVED laughing Harry and smiling Ruth! But for gods sake give Ruth some better clothes!!!!!!!!
Liked Erin and how she admires Harry... hehe liked her scolding Calum...and Dimitri seemed very professional and into his senior field officer role... very little of Tariq but I guess he goes BOOOOM soon... as Calum is the new IT guy.... Towers was a bit annoying.. quite bitchy... not at all the same as in s9.... I think during that moment w Ruth I did not breathe... LOL Calum was so so... but liked his comment about mooma and poppa bear! Elena- sorry but i just cannot look at this actress. Or maybe it was her red wide mouth... she reminded me of a monkey clown... Some really good lines... hehe... when Ruth asking if she can read H report on her he answers not while i draw breath! oh and when he took out that report i was LMAO it looked like 100 pages long.. ;D he certainly has been thinking a lot about Ruth while on his leave... Oh i could go on an on.... :woop:im tooo excited for spooks being back!!!! some great Harry lines.... Peter and Nicola was JUST BRILLIANT! im gonna miss them!!!! |

RE: Series 10 Episode 1 discussion
Yeah, it was pretty obvious as soon as we saw a young bloke with photos that it'd turn out to be Harry's son, even without knowing that he was Sasha.
Loved the scene with Harry springing into action and elbowing the assassin in the face. Hope there's more of that. So delighted that it's focusing on Harry this season - and not before time. Is it me, or is the Home Sec really annoying? I always want to elbow HIM in the face. "Where's Harry?" "Moving in mysterious ways." |
