I think when Helen James says Alternate Ending they are talking about the ending we have but with stuff that hit the cutting room floor in the final edit. The Ending Plus, if you catch my drift.

I think it would be a huge waste of time and resources to have a completely different ending in the can? I could be wrong but that just doesn't seem like smart business to me. Esp. b/c the purse strings were tight already.

I think the only alternate ending I'd like to see would be Harry choking the life from Sasha and having everyone having to pull him off, Ruth's blood smeared over Sasha.

It's been said and I agree - the "happy ending" isn't Spooks style - the only one who got out "happy" was Zoe and she had to "die" and hide away half way around the world.

Helen got a face full of fry oil
Tom got "burned" and expelled from the service (married Christine - I don't call that happy Tongue

)
Tessa fled the country as a traitor (she should have died/locked up)
Danny died to save Fiona
Fiona shot by her ex-husband
Adam "saved" the team getting blown up
Colin got hung
Ben died at Connie's hands
Zaf was killed after being tortured
Jo was shot by Ros in a hostage situ
Ros got blown up
Connie and Lucas died as traitors
Tariq stabbed with poison
Ruth died twice, both times to save Harry, and lost everything several times

Malcolm had the brains to get out when the getting was good but had to uproot his whole life to evade Lucas.

Did I miss anyone?

I would certainly be interested in more extras on the DVD, whether it be an alternative ending or some of the cut scenes. A resounding YES vote from me.

Gosh an alternate ending, most definately. Ending really effected me, caught me by surprise my reaction. Definate yes if possible. Are we sending post cards a well?

Are any of us after a wedding, really?? I found myself expecting to see her face or hear her on the phone because I couldn't believe she was actually dead. Any new ending would need to be as subtle as their relationship, just that she is alive, nothing more, we know what we know about them now. That is the best we could realistically hope for.

I my heart of hearts I know this won't happen. But what I do want is something more, there must have been more in the script at the end - so if there are any scenes on the cutting room floor, could we have them as extras? Please? Especially if a kiss was managed before she actually died.

But in no way should they cut the memorial to the others - that was a fitting tribute and I cannot take that away. Just scratch out Ruth's name Smile
