RE: New Doctor Who Discussion
I enjoyed it, but I always do! There sure were a lot of Americans with guns though. Way to perpetuate a stereotype!
![]() Death Valley was nice to see. It is an incredible place. Seems a long way to go for just a few scenes though? I assume there will be a bit more. The flirting between the Doctor and River Song is a lot more prominent, isn't it? I am suspicious that we are being led down the garden path re: their relationship. They are very much making it look like they were partners. I enjoyed the tete-a-tete as she was futzing with the TARDIS controls behind his back. As for young children watching it, my five year old son watched with me last night. It did get what I thought was a little too frightening and he did stare at the screen in wide-eyed horror a couple of times, but he did not hide his face, jump into my lap, and had no bad dreams. However, my now 10 year old, had he watched it, would probably have had a hard time going to sleep without a light on. So it depends on the kid. I suppose it is not much different than when I watched the Daleks from behind the couch when I back in the early 70's. It doesn't feel very realistic watching it now, but it certainly did back then! Mine seem to know that it is "just" a TV show. Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet [Spooks]; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. ~Wm. Shakespeare, Hamlet |
