RE: What other TV do you watch? (2)
Realities have monopolized the tv. I'm sick of them; in Spain you can hardly avoid them, if there isn't one on tv at that time, there is a tv program who is talking about it. It's a plague. I don't bother watching Spanish tv, there are very few programmes worth watching. I prefer watching quality series

Someone is watching them (a lot of someones actually) or they wouldn't be so prevalent. Ratings are all in tv-land and if the ratings are high, the shows continue.

Someone is watching them and they're pretty cheap to make. There are very few sets to create which eats up a lot of budget. Minimal writing too, so only a few writers instead of a full writers room.
If it doesn't cost too much to make them they only require OK viewership to make lots of money and many people are addicted to them. They're almost as bad as soaps in that way. Always love your country, but never trust your government. |

The fancy series spoiler tags can be utilized for other shows used this way:
Code:
Spoiler info goes here.
Displays as: Series White Collar Finale Spoiler: show I just figured this out. And I'm not sure if Nitrus wanted us to figure that out or not. Always love your country, but never trust your government. |

RE: What other TV do you watch? (2)
I frequently get paid decent amounts of money to figure out the obvious when it's been staring me (or others) in the face for a while.
I had one situation where a company's in house IT staff and their in house accounting staff were basically asking for the same thing. They paid me $1,000 to drive up and listen for them for about two hours and tell them they were asking to do the same thing and if accounting would get the expenditure approved, the IT staff could do it and within two weeks, they had remote connectivity to all of their computers and at less than it cost them to have me referee the discussion. RE: What other TV do you watch? (2)
It just dawned on me this morning how it could be used for "other things". Sleep deprivation does wonderful things for the brain, like shut down the conscious so the subconscious can kick its head up.
Back to our regularly scheduled conversation. I'm not generally a fan of reality TV, but I'm hooked on all of these survival shows on Discovery channel: Survivorman, Les Stroud's new show, Dual Survival, Bear Grylls, The Colony, Man Woman Wild, etc. Man, Woman, Wild is especially entertaining. An American Army special forces guy married a Brit news anchor and they get dropped into survival situations and he makes her look dumb for a few days and feeds her weird stuff. The Colony is a simulation where they dropped several people off in a town that was abandoned after Katrina and they are pretending there was some biological / radiological disaster and they have to survive. It's better some weeks than others. For those who don't know and don't think I'm weird enough already, I have this sort of hang up on the idea that we will face a Zombiepocalypse one day, so that's part of the reason with the fascination with these types of shows. Always love your country, but never trust your government. |

Just watched Bouquet of Barbed Wire, which is very dark. Trevor Eve is great no matter what he is in, and Hermoine Norris is terrific.
Spoiler: show Shame it clashes with Spooks next week. Thank Heavens for V+! |

I'm supposing that there is no sign of Pam Anderson in Bouquet of Barbed Wire?
