[Spoilers] Beth Bailey/Sophia Myles
What did you think of Beth's introduction?
I like her, I think she's going to bring some humour back to the Grid. |

RE: Beth Bailey
I have to say, that I am not quite so keen on this character, at the moment. Hopefully she will grow on me!! I think last nights show was a little bit of a difficult one to totally get your head around Beth. And if Lucas doesn't trust her, then who am I to argue?
Lucas North: Your situation is more precarious than you realize, Connie, so stop pressing buttons and give us something. Connie James: Threats don't work with a person who has nothing to lose. Lucas North: Oh, you're too ingenious to think that I'm threatening you. I'm offering you a simple choice: help us or don't. I'll leave you to compute the implication. |

RE: Beth Bailey
Well, unless you're not sure whether you can trust Lucas either at this point? Ooh, maybe he's using misdirection by pointing the finger at her. I do think it'll be interesting to see the two of them interact with all the mistrust on either side.

RE: Beth Bailey
I think I liked her. She was very self-sure. She clearly wore that low cut top when she visited the Grid to try and get on the right side of Lucas and Harry. I am still a little suspicious of her motives though for coming back to 5. I am looking forward to her interacting with Ruth. I think these two will rub each other up the wrong way.

RE: Beth Bailey
Yes, that top was not exactly conventional interview-wear, was it??
I am not sure about a spook who works in the private sector- who would be employing her? She said she was a surveillance expert, but I wonder where she got her expertise, and who's been paying her? In the real world, people employ investigators and even industrial intelligence specialists - but the job spec is rather different from spookdom. And if she was in industrial intelligence, she'd probably have been doing illegal stuff, so maybe Lucas has a right to be suspicious of her. Personally, I think Lucas was a grumpy old git last night. Never thought I'd say it, but Beth saved his ass, and he could at least have given her some credit. Whatever she is, she isn't an amateur at it, and I thought his nastiness was uncalled for. Yes, could be the hair. Mine is the same colour, and I often get blondist prejudice!
You're right about Lucas - I would rather have a curmudgeonly Lucas than a lovesick one, any day! "I love being mysterious" |

RE: Beth Bailey
I do like her. She's feisty, and resourceful, with a colourful past, certainly connections, has a brain and isn't afraid to use it (along with her more obvious assets ) and she'll bring a different dimension to the grid.
Lucas not liking her - I think after checking 12,000 photos and bringing him that file he has at least some measure of respect for her. Or at least thinks she'd be useful. As for trust - according to the sneak peak for ep two that's an issue soon adressed. And pot, kettle, black?!? Looking forward to seeing Ms Bailey in action soon. |

RE: Beth Bailey
I really dug her - the actress and the character. She has cahones. I like the idea that the character is based on a real life person. Clearly her reputation proceeds her and I am looking forward to more on that subject. And any more than that I cannot say. She has a really good jumping off point that could go in any direction.
