Series 9 Episode 7 discussion

Hey, i can't really believe this but i have still got the exact same make of phone Lucas uses in the flashback here infront of me.
(I keep all my old dead mobiles for some weird reason. I have two of these). I knew it looked familiar.

It's a panasonic, however i can't remember the model. I can't find it written on it.
I know though that it was made much later than 1995 as i had it mid/late 2000's.

So i think they've either messed up a bit there or the flashback is meant to be slightly wrong.

During the last couple of days, people have been talking about the tattoos. I always wondered why, if they had done that to Lucas in prison, why they weren't insults. They seem to be quite noble and/or philosophical. Now

I'm getting the feeling that it's an Eastern Promises type situation, where Lucas was able to join the big boy's club there and it was done in ceremony. He could have done it, as Viggo did, to infiltrate or he is part of the Russian mob.

Maybe we should revisit Kirmostar's tattoo thread. She found out all the meanings. I just skimmed it and couldn't put together a road map off the top of my head. Now I'm thinking (and someone may have already said this) that Lucas' body art

I am not putting this in spoilers because it is an obvious observation purely based on episode 7, so I don't know how it can be a spoiler.

I am not sure if that is the only reason Lucas wants Albany, but I thought that was the obvious reason we were meant to assume from episode 7. Vaughn says to John, the Chinese will have followed you here and that he was trying to protect Maya from them, so of course Lucas will assume they are still after her and him. Vaughn was just the go between.

That's the same point i was making but better phrased really.

Don't think I've ever had an identity crisis before! No, I think this is just a case of me tapping into my evil nefarious Chinese side and thinking of various ingenious ways to get rid of Maya!

There must be a way to neutralise the situation by eliminating Maya, thus breaking the 'spell' and saving Lucas. We can but hope.

I'm already working on my version of Series 9, and I must say I like my story better! LOL! It's just much happier!

A few thoughts of mine, with agreements to prior comments on Albany (not sure what could be a spoiler, so...):

Series 9 Spoiler: show

a) A bogus file - a trigger word given/mentioned by HP at some point during the investigation into Dakar
b) Five's version of Bourne's Blackbriar - Lucas was programmed, albeit OUR Lucas: the Lucas North in Dakar was really John, planted to bring out the traitor.
c) A 5/6 joint investigation on the Chinese/Russian ties

Until the next episode, I truly believe Vaughn brainwashed Lucas at some point. Harry's reactions were more in disbelief about Vaughn than Lucas' "revelations" about his past. Something tells me he knows what's been going down in Lucas' past.

I have a strong feeling Malcolm may have "retired" but never really left the service, not to mention he's one of the most trusted characters with Harry. You know the Chinese would have never had access to the Grid's computers with Malcolm on the job. Coming back for 10th to show Tariq how it's done? Would LOVE it!

My way out for Lucas to be the hero?

Rooftop scene: Lucas/John with Harry, Harry details how Lucas was set up. Lucas surrenders to Harry when Vaughn and Maya show up to kill both Lucas and Harry. Harry takes out Maya, Vaughn clips Harry in the shoulder. Lucas rushes Vaughn - shooting Vaughn in the gut, declares "I will always be Lucas North", shoves him off the roof. Fade out.

Will it happen? I doubt it I can hope for something good though.
