RE: Helen's Gruesome End...
She did, I think. It was her moment of redemption in the episode. She had no real choice but to play along under the circumstances but how could anyone not be moved by what had just happened? And yes, she had a connection with Tom.
Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

RE: Helen's Gruesome End...
The poor thing had a terrible time with her husband, but seemed pretty battle-hardened as she watched Helen's violent demise. Until she threw the cigarette, it looked as if she was on the Dark Side. It was cleverly done.

RE: Helen's Gruesome End...
I first watched it when I was quite young, so I found it a little disturbing. But nothing that I couldn't handle. I was surprised when I found out that people had phoned in - there's a watershed for a reason. Didn't it air at 9pm then? It was towards the end of the episode, so it would've been 9:45ish by the time it was shown, and it wasn't so bad. I suppose the series was quite a new concept in 2002 and people were still getting used to the ideas :/ I found the domestic scenes with Claire far more disturbing, but her courage and eventual freedom made the emotionally gruelling scenes worth while.
