Have H&R ever been out in the field together in such a way that it is just them and life dependant upon? I know they do things together like Dr Kirby etc. bur that wasn't in a life or death scenario. That would be interesting.

Nope. We've never seen them in the field together.

It sure would be great if that should happen. Not sure that it will though. If they're both off the Grid, whoever is left with any experience?

To be honest, I can see them keeping Harry and Ruth apart for the first part of the series, by that I mean physically apart, to keep the tension levels right up there but they will have them communicating. Harry and Ruth may even find a way back to each other that way, if they are not face to face all the time. There will be no time for bickering like there has been, just straight talking.

Yes, Tea Lady, I agree with that. They'll be apart for a while (hopefully not too long). Then I can see someone suddenly grabbing Ruth in her apartment and it turns out to be Harry! Then she punches him in the chest and says "What are you DOING?"

a secret of Harry from the Cold War which could jeopardize his relationship with Ruth. I wish that the sweetness and the gentle humor of the earlier series would be brought back in this “relationship” and that the doom and gloom would be toned down, when Harry's secret is revealed

Since Harry and Ruth didn't have a relationship by the end of season 9, I'm not sure what exactly that article is referring to. That it will hinder Harry's hopes of having a relationship with Ruth, perhaps? Unfortunately the scant information available on season 10 Harry/Ruth does not inspire me with confidence that there will be any lighter moments between them.

Perhaps Harry will be the one withdrawing this time, because whatever his secret is, he believes it will destroy the 0.00001% chance he still has to win her over?

I beg to differ. There might not be a “relationship”, but there is love. It is with love that Ruth looks at Harry in the 9.1 rooftop scene and in the 9.8 grid scene before Harry meets Lucas. It is love that drives Ruth to be so protective of Harry in S9. I believe that, deep down, Harry knows that Ruth loves him. Even NW in the S9 extra was amazed that Ruth still loved Harry after George was killed.

Why has Spooks become so dark since S8? We do understand that spying comes at a price. But humor, even if it is black humor, can be found in most real-life situations. In S10 I am looking forward to the great acting of PF and NW which might include some quips and perhaps some smiles.
