I've just watched this scene back, and Tariq is on there. The memorial scene was so beautiful, the whole last 15 mins of the episode had me in tears, but the episode was done spectacularly.

the Home Secretary told Harry he had to use an outside source to deal with the guy that was behind the attack (Elena's boss)... so I think Harry hired Tom to go to Russia as a hitman and kill Elena's boss for him.

Actuality I think that was Harry who ordered it and the HS telling him not to let him know - though would not Gavrik/Sasha had the plotters bumped off or even taken to the cellars of Lubyanka.

Its stated that Gavrik is an oligarch so could easily have people bumped off.

A final observation - why didn't Erin or Dimitri go after Sasha when he left the building carrying that blade of glass? He was clearly in a totally messed up state of mind and hence extremely dangerous and they knew Harry (and Ruth) had gone outside for some air. Okay they appeared on the scene eventually but that was too late, they should have been onto him straight away.

Can't go on, must go on

Could Tom have been the person who jammed the shredder to help the team, and he had been contacted much earlier by Harry to assist? Might explain his relevance even if his actual appearance was less than 10 seconds.

Devastating ending, I was in floods of tears (blaming pregnancy hormones), poor poor gentle Ruth. While ticked off when the flood receded, perspective may make it the right ending. Or is it, Kudos has left it opened-ended.

We are in a partnership now. They probably made up a list of names and split it evenly between the UK and Russia, that what partners do split the work load between each other. Each one deal with there list how they want.

I could be wrong but I got the impression tbaf Harry wasn't responsible for contracting Tom as the hitman. Seemed to me that this had already been arranged by persons unknown and the HS was simply advising Harry that Elenas boss would be taken care of. Definitely need a re-watch now, firstly to satisfy my curiosity about this particular bit and secondly, just for the sake of watching it again.

I still feel a bit numb, like someone very close to me has just died. I really wanted Ruth and Harry to have the happy walk off into the sunset moment, which of course being Spooks,i should have known wouldn't have happened.

Goodbye Spooks,i'll miss you. *sobs*

RE: Series 10 - Episode 6 Discussion
Well, I cried buckets over Ruth. I did hope that adrenaline might work but being Spooks, of course it didn't.

The mention of the outside contractor was an immediate thought jump to Tom, the only one still alive and available to be working in the business privately. Of course, Harry contacted Tom. It was obvious that Towers was telling him that his vengence for the indirect death of the woman he loved was understandable and would be brushed under the carpet. And who else should Harry go to but someone, he trusted - Tom. I loved that the first shot we saw was his trademark long coat even before we heard the mellifluous tones. Yeah Tom!!!!

I thought it was a good ending - fitting. Harry carries on...

Perhaps the most heartbreaking ending to a show I have ever seen.

That will stay with me for a long time. I feel like a member of the family has died. Poor doomed Ruth.

And there is Harry - stalwart, brave, forever standing on the wall: regnum defende.

That's all for now.

Emotional, gripping, twists and turns, impossibly good...and I hated it. Really.

So many other possibilities -- but time to move on now.

Will miss Spooks -- kudos to Kudos & the Cast/Crew.
