Big issues in Season 5

Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone can help me with a story I'm writing. I'd like to know the big issues that were happening in the year Season 5 was released. Were any of the episodes from S5 running close to a real-life issue taking place that year?
I'd really appreciate any feedback, either taking place in Britain or its neighbouring countries. Thanks.

Obsession I am going to move this thread to the season 5 sub forum, it's better suited to there.

I think the big storylines were Adam's PTSD, Ros' joining the section and eventually becoming part of the team, Harry's more personal views coming to the fore (and I don't mean HR, I mean some of the conversations he has about personal integrity and what the job means) and, as always, loss. Of all varieties.
