Music in Spooks
Just wondered if anyone else has commented on music in Spooks before. I am new to this forum and was curious. But has anyone noticed how 'Bourne'-esque the music is at times? Not a bad thing as I love the Bourne films but just occasionally the music seems very very similar....

RE: Music in Spooks
Yeh, I really like the soundtrack a lot of the time.. I recognise some of it sometimes.
There was an official Spooks Soundtrack CD released.. but has since been discontinued.. i've tried to pirate it.. because it costs £30 now. Here it is: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spooks-Original-...=8-1-spell They are obviously quite rare! Sig & Av Guidelines | Rules | Spoiler Policy |

RE: Music in Spooks
I didn't know about the soundtrack, thanks for that.
The music for Spooks is really good, I think, more than just the usual background tinkling. Many times it really brings out the emotion of a particular scene. And while we're on the topic; is it me or have a noticed that the music I heard on original transmissions is different from the music on the DVD releases? I might be totally up the wrong tree but an example is the end of series two where Tom is running towards the sea. I thought I remembered the original transmission music as a lone soprano voice but on the DVD is a male/female vocal thing, slightly jaunty. I could be wrong.... |

Shame it's not on a disk, just downloaded from iTunes... Have they stopped it? The pieces of music on the disks, etc, aren't necessarily what will be used in the episode. For a particular sequence the music may be edited slightly such as changing the voice, sometimes changing the instrument or tempo. It just depends on what's going on. DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered. |

RE: Music in Spooks
Yeah the music when Tom was running to the sea is from the Movie Spy Game. Its by Harry Gregson Williams.
You can buy that off Itunes aswell or Bigpond music. I think you can download some of the spooks songs for free from the composer of the later series |

RE: Music in Spooks
Great to know we can get hold of this excellent music but can anyone also confirm that the music on aired episode (2:10) is totally different from the music over the same scene on the DVD? Or am I imagining it?!
