I wrote it in the episode thread but came here to celebrate - I actually really dug the scene in the office, as I think the rooftop scene suffered a bit from poor editing. I'm sure they spun it out longer.

Progress! Harry teasing her gently, and glad for her intervention. Wasn't it nice to see Harry honest to God *smile* again? I've missed that. And them walking around together lots - goodie!

I think they had Ruth trying to get him not to leave so we would know (and Harry knows) that she really cares.

And yes, he definitely looked her up and down in *that* way. Twice.

I'm with JHyde - the office scene is my favourite too. Harry is so delighted by the fact that she stands up to him, and then takes her advice as well. He values her opinion greatly. And re the roof scene, I'm just happy someone is worried about Harry's emotional state and trying to comfort him - loved the arm caress from Ruth. And yeah, he shouldn't have any doubts that Ruth cares for him a great deal after her reaction to him going to the danger zone. Roll on season 9! Hopefully...

Fanfic writers better be sharpening their pens to see us through to the next series!

I love that office scene. It may be one of my favourite scenes between them ever. If only she'd teased back.....

And Harry looked happier than he's looked in about two seasons, maybe more, when she disagrees with him in the office. Positively beaming he was. Onya guys x

I think Series 8 ended in the right place for HR, they have got back to where they were when she left the first time.

I wouldn't have wanted them to actually get together in this Series.

I agree - the office scene was so lovely! She gets the courage to go up to him and pretty much say you're wrong (over-exaggerating slightly,) and he of course has no problem with it and is happy that she challenged him.

I think that there was a bit of that in 8.4 too. I thought Harry's constant saying of "Then prove it" was him trying to get Ruth back into her old self by challenging her. They used to do similar before she left too if i'm not mistaken.

I don't think they're at the point they were when she left. The situation is just so different. There are so many ghosts this time around.

And they're not flirting yet. They used to flirt. Nor is she joking back yet.

But she will. I have faith.
