Why was Ruth driving around Cyprus with a Norn Iron registered car? (JIL 404, if I saw it properly) Surely itshould have been greek...

RE: Episode 1 Discussion
Isn't that a Cyprus registration number plate? So they're doubling Ireland with Cyprus? Oh dear, there have been some major budget cuts!

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

RE: Episode 1 Discussion
A couple of notes from what was a great start to the season:

- Yay for the new opening! Big Grin
- I was really stunned by Malcolm's decision. I had a sinking feeling they would kill him off, knowing that Tariq was on the horizon, but the way it played out was simply poetic. So sad to see him go.
- I'm really happy to see Lucas coming into greater focus. He had some great moments in this episode, none bigger than saving Harry's life.
- Ruth's return was handled brilliantly, and I'm glad they didn't just throw her back on the grid after going through what she just went through. She's going to need time to soak in all that's just happened.
- I was REALLY disappointed, however, that Ruth never asked where Adam or Zaf were. Hopefully this comes up in a later episode, but I find it very hard to believe that she wouldn't ask about their whereabouts.

RE: Episode 1 Discussion
Two things:

I suspect it will come up between Jo and Ruth in episode 3.

And their absence (Ruth doesn't know about their deaths), Zaf's in particular, would be classified.

There wasn't really enough time to ask, I felt. It was one of those episodes that I think could have made it to a two-parter. And I agree with JHyde - maybe when she's actually back on the Grid she'll ask. She's only been on the Grid for about ten minutes so far, she might have thought that they were there but she didn't see them, or they get moved to a different department. She has no reason to know that they were dead yet - no one else has mentioned it either.

RE: Episode 1 Discussion
My favourite discrepancy from episode one is the fact that George and Nico just converse with Ruth in English. I totally get why it was in English, but it's still pretty funny.

I'd always pictured Ruth teaching English in the north of France, or maybe in Algiers. So I wasn't too far off. Harry is absolutely right of course when he says she was "made for better", although I think he's giving himself a harder time there then chastising Ruth. He blames himself. BUt really, what was she meant to do? Jeopardise her security by running her own rogue missions by tapping into the French security system so that someone from MI5 could point to her and say "she's meant to be dead"?

RE: Episode 1 Discussion
Of course she was made for better but she had no choice but figured out a new different life...

A personal reflection Wink sometimes you are happier living a simple life with not many preoccupations...

Oh look, absolutely. But as you know, I've already outlined that at great length. I love how they filtered the lighting to make it as coulourful as possible in "Cyprus".
