No worries - I usually use quick reply as well! I've just been using so many smileys on this forum that I've just got used to typing in all the codes Wink

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

We haven't talked about
Spoiler: show
Ros's exit. I've re-scanned all the news stories about it and can only glean that they've got something seriously big planned. Any ideas?

Seriously, back on topic please.

I don't think Malcolm will return ever... at the very least he will return in the same fashion as Connie.. looking after an abandoned MI5 building.. but with less torturing. Smile

RE: If this is the last Series how will it end?
I'm desperately trying to find my speculating on the end of season 8 - I think it's somewhere in the Harry/Ruth thread.

If I were writing it, I'd put Harry and Ruth
Spoiler: show
in another hostage situation (I planned all this before I saw episode 1). If they get out alive, they decide to take a leave of absence and their Grand Tour. While captured, Harry asks her where they should start, and Ruth says "Paris".

My only excuse is all this bloody wedding planning I'm involved in right now. I'm really not a sop usually.

Anyway, now that I have finally learned something useful in life - I reckon Harry will cop it and that Ruth will be made head of Section D. She'll calmly handle some major crisis and ensure Tom, Zoe and Lucas are keeping Britain safe as the cameras zoom out and fade....

I can't imagine it would be something final that cannot be undone, like Harry's death. They would want to see how the series is faring with ratings, etc before they pulled the plug.

Since whatever it is, is already in the can, I doubt my ending of choice, which would allow for a hiatus, rethink and re-financing, is it.

I would like it to end something like Seinfeld, where they all went to prison together. The Spooks version would be, all field officers captured and the grid in disarray, with only Harry and Tariq standing there in shock, (or something like that.)

Rooftop scene:
Beth and Dmitri sneak up and disarm Lucas, cuff him and lead him away.
Lucas screams, "No Harry please, I'd rather die!"

Harry: "We're sending you to rehab ................. in Texas."

Just re-read all the future episode summaries. I think the ending will have something to do with
Spoiler: show
the secret meetings in Basel that the HS referenced at the end of ep 2 (or was it ep 1 -- forgotten already). Ruth has been put onto discovering what that's all about and she comes up with something. Good way to end the season, attempting to foil an international plot, maybe with Ruth in Basel and Harry going to get her.
Gives a hook for next season, if it happens, or else makes the point that the danger is never over.

The key word being hook.

Yeah, I can't quite picture Malcolm breaking out the gator clips and a battery!

But that does look suspiciously like Malcolm in the trailer with a pair of pliers!
