When do they usually announce this things? Is it sure it has to be before the alst ep or can it be any time later?

Although if there were a S9, with shooting beginning around February, actor should know by now whether it is a yes or no as to organize other projects for next year, right?

Wasn't last year that they announced it after ending 7th series? Perhaps the actors already know...

I think that they did... I'm fairly sure they did, I don't remember worrying that there wouldn't be an 8th series...

They announced it the 4th of December give of take, there is an article with that date.

*EDIT* I found in wikianswers the question: "Is there going to be a spooks season 9?"
And one bloke answered: I believe filming for Season 9 has finished and is due to air later this year in the UK.

It made me laugh!

I know I saw that too! Nearly as funny as asking where they could find videos for season 9...

The announcement came a few days before the final episode of season 8.
