RE: [spoilers] Harry and Lucas
Ewwwww JHyde!!!

I think Harry and Lucas are due a big argument, bring it all out in the open. A chance for Lucas to get everything off his chest. I thought it was going to happen in S8 with his Russian prison guard, but no.

Yeah, it was the closest we got to it.

And hey, if I didn't say someone else would have, believe me.

RE: [spoilers] Harry and Lucas
See?

We've chatted about this a little on other threads for Season 9, but what do people think about Lucas becoming Section Chief? I'd be surprised if Harry gives it to him - maybe we'll see one of the new recruits drafted in as Head. Maybe that could bring the boys to a sit-to methinks!

I'd be surprised if he gets it too. I think it would be a risky move. I'm tipping one of the new characters gets the job.

RE: [spoilers] Harry and Lucas
I actually think Harry will give it to him. We commented in the season 8 thread how lenient Harry was with Lucas despite all his indiscretions with CIA blondie, which shows to me that the writers are not particularly interested in creating further tension between Harry and Lucas. So my guess is Lucas will become team leader, and that maybe this time if he slips up Harry will come down harder on him. Harry does expect higher standards from his team leader than from any of the others.

RE: [spoilers] Harry and Lucas
I think I have said before that Lucas doesnt deserve it but I think Harry will give it to him. The new members of the section just seem a bit young to be springboarded into that role. Harry gave Ros the position of section chief after she helped get rid of Ruth, and nearly had Harry killed. If Harry can give her promotion after all of that, I dont see why Harry wouldnt give it to Lucas. I would be concerned though that Lucas would be the weakest of all the section chiefs we have had. Maybe though, that would create a different storyline. A section chief that Harry could not rely on so much as he did with Tom, Adam, and Ros = ACTION HARRY BACK ON THE FRONT LINE....

RE: [spoilers] Harry and Lucas
Yeah, Harry gave Ros the section chief job after she did all that stuff, but she also came back and tried to save him from Yalta and got herself "killed" in" the attempt. And then they murdered Kachamov together and mourned Adam together. Harry and Ros had a tighter bond, in many ways, than he did with either Tom or Adam.

I don't see Harry giving the job to Lucas because he knows L isn't ready for it yet. Ros may have been cold and calculating but she was born ready to be section chief.

RE: [spoilers] Harry and Lucas
while I wouldn't go so far as to say that Lucas doesn't deserve it, I think at the moment he wouldn't be right for the job. He might still be a brilliant spook and have the skills required for the position but whatever demons and problems he brought back from Russia might rear their ugly head at any time, making him a liability (something discussed somewhere else).. I also think that he distrusts politicians even more than Ros does (present tense Tongue) and I just can't see him play ball, no questions asked, I'd guess that under certain circumstances he might be crossing that line between "creative initiative" (i.e. running off doing things his way and f*** Harry Big Grin) and subordination.
OTOH, it all depends
Spoiler: show
on whether Ros made it out of that hotel or not. If she did - it'll be her job. Maybe even more of a desk job if she sustained injuries that prevent her from going out in the field again. Other than the HS's office Tongue)
The newbies though seem too young (unless a) there are other cast members we haven't heard of yet, or b) one of them will be given the job in a political move ...)
Idea I've got it - Ruth will get the job Tongue .. and Harry shows her the ropes .. among other things Tongue

RE: [spoilers] Harry and Lucas
I reckon Harry will give the job of Section Chief to Lucas - partly to force Lucas to obey orders, and partly because he is capable of doing it.

Just had a thought about Connie's confession (betraying Lucas) in 7.8. What if Connie didn't work alone? What if it was Harry AND Connie, and their "betrayal" of Lucas was to save the life of another agent? As several have already written, Harry would then have to wait until a suitable "swap" appeared.

Crazy, I know.
