Once he discovered he was set up by Victor, all the fight went out of him. What you ultimately saw wasn't an ideological terrorist but a brother's anguish. He wanted simple revenge; he really wasn't in it to make a political point. "What is the truth?" "Betrayal is a cancer. Let it eat your soul, not mine." RE: Episode 7 Discussion
I'm uncomfortable with this assessment. Dhillon must have been a decent target in the first place, at the very least a strong sympathizer with fundamentalist tendencies and a violent past. In no way did he ask for what happened to his sister. But his actions were his own. There was enough of the cause in him for Nightingale to prey upon him.

RE: Episode 7 Discussion
Yes, you're right, he was targeted by Nightingale for a reason. But in this instance, his motivation was his sister not his beliefs, imo. That's not to say that he couldn't, or wouldn't, have acted on his beliefs at some point, I just don't think he did in the context of this ep.

Yeah, that comparison could be interpreted as lots of things. I personally responded to it because of how complex translating any language can be.

I also think that perhaps he is supposed to sound like that. A young politician, brought in, in a middle of a crisis, perhaps to look good rather than say anything useful. His bike in his office kind of gave the impression that he is one of these people that talks the talk but when it actually comes down to it, really doesnt have a clue what they are doing and will just use empty rhetoric. |
