RE: Genevieve O'Reilly
I've only ever seen her in Spooks, and must say that my opinion of her as an actress has definately been damaged by the accent. It was really distracting for me.
However, she does do a good RP accent, I'll give her that |

RE: Genevieve O'Reilly
Just catching up with Season 8 now and what a horrific accent. Surely there was another American actress living in the UK who could have been cast? Or at least not make her from the Northeast. She sounded Southern at times.

RE: Genevieve O'Reilly
I think that Genevieve isn't actually American at all, she was born in Ireland and lived in Australia. Why they didn't cast an American is very strange, at least the accent would have been right.

Just seen Genevieve O'Reilly in 'Waking the Dead', she was brilliant in it. At least she wasn't trying to do an American accent, her English accent was great, and she played the part superbly. She was sweet and vulnerable, and cold and ruthless all at the same time.

RE: Genevieve O'Reilly
Sounded more Irish to me but she was very good in it. The storyline was a little obvious but when she stood up out of the wheelchair near the end and walked towards the camera it was rather creepy.

RE: Genevieve O'Reilly
saw her in one (or two) of the Matrix-movies, but it was a really small part, can't even remember what her lines were; she also played a role in The Young Victoria, but I was too pre-occupied with looking at Paul Bettany (Emily Blunt was also good in this)

You are probably right, but still better than her American accent!!!! Lucas 8.4: It's all about trust, isn't Harry ?. Signature by the brilliant TygerBright |
