Well this particular RA fan is just over the moon that not only has RA made it into one of the leading roles in the Hobbit but he's coming to NZ! Right to this fan's doorstep! Will definitely be keeping the eyes peeled for the next year - 18 months from Feb 2011 when filming starts!

There is one downside to the Hobbit casting for RA fans though. The news has just come out from Sky that RA is to be written out of Strike Back 2 and replaced by 2 new leads. R.I.P. John Porter! That's a real shame.

If Richard is leaving Strike Back, then high chances are that he will exit Spooks as well.

Isn't John Porter like the main character or something? Isn't it based on a book?

With all these news coming out, I'm still puzzled as to why Spooks hasn't announce if Richard's leaving or not, maybe there's a good chance his character will still remain alive despite his departure?

A real shame that RA is leaving Strike Back, he really is the main character in that and was brilliant. Probably will not watch it without RA in it. However the Sky Strike Back is so far removed from the book losing John Porter isn't really a problem to the storyline.

Maybe RA is giving up Strike Back so he can do Spooks and the Hobbit ? I can hope can't I ??

With him filming The Hobbit, Parts 1 and 2 and him leaving Strike Back, I agree there's a high chance of him leaving Spooks ...
As long as Lucas stays alive in some way I don't mind... Just don't kill him!

I'm hoping that no announced news of RA leaving Spooks means that there's a good chance that he won't leave. This all seems like one very very closely guarded secret!

I'm with you, as long as Lucas comes out of this finale alive in one piece, or even two pieces or more, I am okay! He can leave as long as he is alive!

Someone IS going to leave, I read an interview with Nicola Walker, I'm not sure if anyone else has seen it I'm hoping that doesn't mean Ruth is leaving either, and it does day 'its not all bad news for a Spooks star who's time is up' not that a character is going to die

I do get the feeling though that character will be Lucas, If RA DOES leave, as long as Lucas leaves Alive... I shall be happy and If he leaves alive, there's always a chance he can return later
