I've posted something to that effect a few days back on the ABC Spooks 8 Forum - still nothing. I'm hopeful that the "in the Spring" rumour is correct. If they've already bought the rights, then the election result shouldn't affect their screening of Spooks 8.

Didn't the ABC show season 6 and 7 together? maybe they might do that with seasons 8&9.

They did. Last year, season 6 was shown immediately prior to season 7, in May/June and July I'm pretty sure.
