RE: Favorite Quotes?
This quote, for me, is from one of the saddest and most powerful scenes that I've seen in Spooks to date.
Colin: "I'm not strong enough to fight you, I was never any good at this running and jumping thing, I was… To be honest, I'm not really meant to be out in the field, it's just that we're very very stretched, so… Just get on with whatever it is you're gonna do to me, because I might be smaller and weaker than you, but… You can hurt me… but you won't humiliate me." Apologies if the quote is not entirely accurate and thanks to TV.COM from where I copied it. Colin Wells: Didnt we bug this suite when Bill Clinton used it? Malcolm Wynn-Jones: We did. Colin Wells: Happy days! |

RE: Favorite Quotes?
Harry does indeed have some fab lines but part of my all-time favourite is in my sig.......
"I spent eight years in a Russian cell. Eight years because I stayed loyal to my country. I still chew it over when I’m lying awake at 3am, wondering was it worth it. But yeah, it was. Because I look at you with all your brilliance, and all your treachery, and I see everything that I’ve ever fought against." Not only is it a summary of his life, but the way Richard Armitage delivers the line is so poignant and embodies the whole ethos of the organisation........especially considering who he's talking to...... sorry, I don't do this often but...... |

RE: Favorite Quotes?
For me its the intelligent script-writing (and more recently Richard Armitage of course!) that lifts Spooks way above anything else............

RE: Favorite Quotes?
HARRY: “Well, to me this application reads like something written by an analyst. One of those spotty M.I.6 mutants they keep in the dungeons at Vauxhall Bridge Road, beside where ‘C’ grows his magic mushrooms.”
MACE: “Harry, we may not be able to see the massed, red-coated ranks of England’s finest piling across the field at Waterloo, but to all intents and purposes, we’re at war...” DANNY: “They were going to get married, Harry. She trusts him.” HARRY: “It’s a human failing she’ll have to overcome.” HARRY: “I want a wide sweep. Everyone we’ve been watching, every hacker, every programmer we know of who’s capable of doing this ... I want them dragged in and throttled until they spit out a name.” ANDREW: “That’s a lot of people.” HARRY: “The more, the merrier.” Dolby: "Well, if the HS wants a bit of cheering up this morning, who better than Harry Pearce to chase the clouds away?" Harry: "If there's one thing I'm grateful for in life, it's my sunny disposition." |

RE: Favorite Quotes?
I love the first and the last quote. Especially the last one.
DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered. |

RE: Favorite Quotes?
I like Lucas's reply to Harry...."Home isn't where you live, it's where people understand you. If I don't have trust from MI5, from you, then I'll never really be home just back in England."
From episode 7.2 Lucas 8.4: It's all about trust, isn't Harry ?. Signature by the brilliant TygerBright |

RE: Favorite Quotes?
Love that one. Another good one (which I don't think has been done yet):
Harry: (to Adam) Chocolates might be the answer. Nice ones of course. Get Sam to run across to that Belgian shop. A beat. Adam: Not a bad idea, Harry. Harry smiles and moves away. Ruth looks horrified. Adam (CONT’D) (mutters): Don’t say anything, he’s still in earshot. Love it! And also this one: Danny: How many officers are up for it? Sam: Nineteen. Danny: Budget? She glances at a scrap of paper. Sam: One twenty five. Danny: One twenty five? Is that it? We can’t afford something like this on only... (calculates) ... six fifty an officer. Malcolm: Six fifty seven, actually. Danny: What about time, date, location? Sam: 1900 hours, 21st - budget means we’ll have to do it at home. Danny: How’s the transport infrastructure going to be that night? Zoe: There are no Tube strikes announced, if that’s what you mean. Danny: Good, good... and we’re sure - He glances over at HARRY, on the phone in his office. Danny (CONT’D): - we’re sure Harry suspects nothing? Zoe (Big sigh): For God’s sake, Danny, we’re not trying to infiltrate Baghdad. It’s just a birthday party. DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered. |

RE: Favorite Quotes?
That is a very good explanation, I think. Who cares about people talking, but belgian chocolates for birthday presents??? (Actually that's my ideal present so I wouldn't mind, but anyway.)
