New Spoiler Tags

As you might've noticed we now have new spoiler tags, let me explain what's new and why.

The design of the spoiler tag is now more pronounced, whereas before it blended with the text and some were accidentally clicked, I hope the new design aids people to see them better.

The whole motive behind the new spoiler tags is so allow people to make more informed decisions about whether to view the spoiler or not. So not only is the new spoiler tag better designed, it also has a new feature. Check it out:

Harry is gay!

Series 2 Spoiler: show

Christine 1.0 marries Danny!

You can now tell people what series the spoiler is for, allowing other members to know whether they want to view the spoiler or not. This is how:

[spoiler=9]spoiler goes here[/spoiler]

All you have to do is add =<series number> in the first tag and it will do it for you. And the normal [spoiler] works too.

For now it is not a requirement to specify the Series, but we actively encourage everyone to use it where possible, put yourself in the shoes of someone who doesn't want to know the spoilers and act as you would like to be treated. It could become a rule to specify the series, but the jury is still out on that one.

I hope this new feature will improve the experience of members on this site and not inconvenience others.

You may not be able to fix this but when you get an email notification, you can read the spoiler, or a good part of it, kind of like when you quote a post with a spoiler in it, you see the spoiler.

I can't do anything about email, but you can stop the emails if that helps.

As for quoting, again, I cannot do anything, just be selective about what you quote.
