It really sounds like Kudos and the BBC are going for it though. No sign of this being the last series from those statements.

As for the new characters, from looking at their photos, I think Iain Glen will play a baddy. Simon Russell Beale will play the head of MI6 and Laila Rouass will play Harry's new girlfriend....

After ImDBing Iain Glen, I realized I saw him in BBC period drama Wives and Daughters (with Keeley Hawes) he played well the baddie Mr Preston.

as for Iain Glen - I'm assuming he's in for more than one ep, and while I'd still like to see him as new HS, he'd proably make a good head of whatever evil organization our heroes are up against this season... with a sexy Scottish accent too. (main theme being the fight for Scottish independence.. at any coast )
