Woah, they used steganography. That's impressive.

The only practical application I know these days is court stenography. I don't know if that is monumentally stupid or deviously brilliant! And they buried money - literally! ... you read an article from David Wolstencraft about the Russian spies in the Guardian.

Re the tradecraft element, I read elsewhere that this spy ring was a set up, made to be detected. The real spy ring is out there, waiting, hidden. |

RE: "You know you're a fan of [spooks] when....." (Take 2)
variation:
you know you're (dead chuffed to be) a Spooks fan when... you find out that there is something called "steganography" (it's even the same word in German) which differs from "stenography" (something I learned, practised, and forgot again long, long ago). I knew the 'art/science' of hiding information in pictures/script existed but I never had a word to attach to it... Thanks Nitrus for the edumacation!!! |

^There's a fantastic example of that page of hiding the image of a cat in a photo of trees. Truly mind-blowing. Sig & Av Guidelines | Rules | Spoiler Policy |

RE: "You know you're a fan of [spooks] when....." (Take 2)
...when you read about the so-called Russian spy ring (and the latest in the debacle, that the 11th 'spy' has jumped bail in Cyprus: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/jun...CMP=AFCYAH )...and think that it's a red herring.
That, while the world (and its media) is focused on this very public story, there's something far more covert going on that THEY don't want us to notice. "Where's Harry?" "Moving in mysterious ways." |

... when the latest to come out about the Russian spy ring is that there was a woman who gives come hither stares as part of the ring and you think 'hey - Lucas could fit right in.'
