Oh, I really just wish that the writers would stop all this dancing around with the H/R thing, and either finally let them do what comes naturally, or Harry finds someone else who will!!

whatever their plans for H/R, it looks as if Lucas might become Section Chief after all... if you read between the lines.
RA hints at Lucas being less action hero next season, and more ... desk-bound?!?

but he was supposed to be a highly intelligent office, if they now want to use his brain instead his brawn - fine by my. Promises more great acting Big Grin

I don't know Tyger. Why would he be desk bound if he became section chief? None of the other section chiefs have been? Ros has been kicking butt around London for two series now. She was hardly ever at a desk. Perhaps because of his mental state, or maybe he broke a couple of nails in the explosion, Harry gives him desk duty (far away from Ruth before you say anything Tyger...) Wink

I was thinking something like that: Lucas *a little* more desk-bound. My global impression is that while Ros as section chief also had her share of in the field action, it wasn't as much as Lucas' and part of her time 'outside' was accompanying Harry, so if Lucas becomes section chief it would mean, if not necessarily, less action.

desk-bound was probably not the best choice. The article/interview only says that he'll be less physical than previously, not chained to a desk. Less using fists or guns...and more his head.
As for why, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
And I wish I never started the L/R joke... meh. For all I care Harry can keep her or chain her to his desk.

I found this article really exciting. At least it seems to imply that the Lucas of season 8 is not returning and that can only be a good thing. I love Lucas' character, but think that for the most part Season 8 was very unkind to him.

Bring on Season 9!

Ohh this is interesting! Thanks for posting the link Tyger. The contrast in Lucas's character was quite compelling in season 8. Curious to know why he settles down a bit - injured in the blast perhaps? Unlikely, I'd say. Can't wait for season 9!!

That was my first thought (Lucas becoming section chief) as well when I read the article. It would be a natural progression - but then maybe that's where one of the new characters come in & is made section head instead of Lucas and causes tension and an "ultimate" betrayal.
I hate waiting.... Confused
