RE: Weird and Wonderful stories from around the World
It's neither wierd nor wonderful, but the YouTube video connected to it (Tom Durkin's Best Race Call) sure is funny! Tom Durkin has been the race caller for The Triple Crown for 10 years. Sweet Juliet, it isn't!

It is probably real but I do wonder about the billboard up top. To be fair, this pic is from a County Fair. It's all about the side-show. It's not like we have one of these on every street corner. On second thought, maybe we do. It's called McDonalds. Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet [Spooks]; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. ~Wm. Shakespeare, Hamlet |

My goodness, I saw corn dogs when I was over in the States, they looked...interesting! Covered in chocolate though...Yuk!
Talking of the Telegraph, I think saying "spooks stars" is pushing it a bit far. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/k...ttawa.html |

RE: Weird and Wonderful stories from around the World
I have to say, I do kind of admire the brazen honesty of the 'coronary combo'! At the same time, though, I'm deeply disturbed by an awareness of the brain that conceived of chocolate-covered bacon And as for deep-fried butter... But, then again, any foodstuff(??) that can be experienced in its artery-hardening goodness even as it is being consumed might well be worth the risk, just for the experience

RE: Weird and Wonderful stories from around the World
Oh, @Tea Lady, corn dogs are among the things that make the US what it is. I'm longing for them now, in my self-imposed Canadian exile.
Thus let me live, unheard, unknown; Thus unlamented let me dye; Steal from the world, and not a stone Tell where I lye. |
